WHAT WE TEACH

Enriching the Curriculum

The enrichment of the curriculum is outstanding.

(Ofsted 2007)Belleville has been awarded Arts Mark Gold.  This award acknowledges the level of commitment and excellent standards achieved by the school in all areas of the creative arts (including drama, dance, music and art). Drama is well supported by professional actors and our teachers use drama to enhance learning in many areas of the curriculum.During the year, children enjoy whole-school theme weeks which are extremely popular and contribute to the enrichment of our curriculum.  These theme weeks incorporate an impressive range of visitors and diverse, exciting experiences for the children. Recent themes have included a Cultural Arts Week, Book Week and Science Week.Theme days are also used as a very effective way of bringing the curriculum to life. Children thoroughly enjoy their learning on these special days such as: Greek Day, 1940's Day, Victorian Day and International Day. A wide range of educational visits, visitors and residential trips are an integral part of the curriculum.
