WHAT WE BELIEVE

Teaching

Ours is a highly organised school, offering a carefully structured curriculum. We are proud of the breadth, balance and richness of the curriculum at Belleville. All children benefit from a diverse range of topics which extends far beyond the requirements of the Foundation Stage Curriculum and the National Curriculum. Teachers work hard to ensure that the work is interesting, inspiring and challenging to all.

We have a high level of non class-based teachers who contribute to the high standard of teaching across the curriculum. These include the two deputy headteachers, special needs teachers, a full time music teacher, art teacher and PE teachers. Highly trained support staff provide additional classroom assistance throughout the school.

"The consistency of teaching is a great strength."

Early Learning

We develop positive attitudes to learning throughout the school. Whether children start in Nursery or Reception, they quickly develop the independence and confidence to learn and interact with others. Our Foundation Stage is a stimulating environment which encourages independence and a real motivation to learn. The classrooms and outdoor areas have excellent resources to promote learning. Early reading and writing skills are taught in an effective and engaging way and children achieve extremely well in all areas by the end of the Foundation Stage.
