We aim for our pupils:
- To develop lively, enquiring minds and self-motivation
- To be able to question, agree or disagree rationally and to think for themselves
- To develop self-reliance, self-respect and self-confidence
- To develop a reasoned set of personal attitudes, values and beliefs, and a respect for the cultures and values of others
- To gain the ability to work independently and collaboratively and to cope with success and failure
- To gain the knowledge, skills and abilities needed in our changing world
Our school ethos is to show consideration and respect to others at all times. To this end we encourage all members of the school community to act in a manner which shows tolerance, understanding and appreciation of others, both in and out of school.
We believe that positive behaviours should be encouraged and so we will emphasise honesty, truthfulness and consideration towards others, whenever practicable.
We value our culturally diverse society and wish to build on the strengths of this. We believe that the children's education will be enriched by learning about their own and others' cultures. We aim to give children an understanding of our multi-cultural society.
