How we behave
Children at Belleville work and behave in a calm, orderly way. High standards of behaviour are essential for learning. Our policy is based on mutual respect and common sense with the emphasis on praising and valuing good behaviour. Our pupils are often congratulated on their behaviour at outside events and we are proud of the many "Good Behaviour" awards they have received.

However, in the event of a child being persistently undisciplined, he or she may be excluded from the school. There are times when the welfare of the rest of the class must be the school's priority.

Belleville is a "telling" school. We encourage any child who is being bullied, or sees this happening to somebody else, to TELL. By establishing an environment where bullies are found out, incidents of bullying are reduced. Bullying, in any form, is not tolerated.

Excellence Awards
An excellence scheme is used to encourage good work and behaviour. Children are presented with certificates as they progress through the scheme. All adults can use the scheme to reward any child for positive work, effort or behaviour.

We have a weekly "excellence" assembly where children are praised for their achievements. We also award a "Good Behaviour Cup" to the class that staff consider has behaved the best that week.
